Living In The Eighties

Assalamualaikum w.b.t,

This blog I made as a personal use to keep my memories back in the old good time especially in the 80's when I live in Ipoh. Friends, families and others who are interest and grown in the 80's are welcome to surf on in this site.

The era of the 80's was the most memorable moments of my life. There's happy and sad moment that I could'n forget. It's not because I'm not happy with my life currently. It's different cause that time when we are still kids, didn't have any heavy obligations, just plays, studies, getting fun and live with my loveble families. Besides, I still have my parents which I miss so much.

Here, most of the stories or article are around the 80's that I include a stories and history of that era along with the photo's or video clips. I also include several songs from the 60's and 70's with world wide history.There are also a photo's of my hometown, school's, places, family and friends that are related with me in the 80's.

Besides loving listening to music and watching films, I'm also an active sports person specially in football and badminton. I'm a biggest fan of old time articles or stories whether on event, persons, a legends or whatever related with history.

It's been since 1990 that I left Green Town, Ipoh and working in Kuala Lumpur. I can't imagine that i will live, stay and grown a family here in Kuala Lumpur, the biggest and a capital city in Malaysia. Still, the old fond memories of past days is still in my heart.
Hopefully it's will call our memories in the 80's which so wonderful and awesome.

Doris Day 'Que Sera Sera' 1971

This is a 50's song. I just included it to remind me first time I'm going to school.
My English teacher use to teach us learning English with this song and others.

1971

• March 27 – East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) independence is repeatedly declared by Army Major (later President of Bangladesh) Ziaur Rahman on behalf of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from Kalurghat Radio Station, Chittagong.
• March 28 – The Ed Sullivan Show airs its final episode.
• April 17 – The People's Republic of Bangladesh forms, under Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at Mujibnagor.


1965
• March 20 – The Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 begins.
• January 20 – Lyndon B. Johnson is sworn in for his own full term as U.S. President.
• February 6 – Sir Stanley Matthews plays his final First Division game, at the record age of 50 years and 5 days.
• February 21 – Malcolm X is assassinated in Manhattan.
• March 8 – Vietnam War: Some 3,500 United States Marines arrive in South Vietnam, becoming the first American combat troops in Vietnam.
• May 1 – Liverpool wins the FA Cup Final, beating Leeds Utd 2-1.
• August 7 – Tunku Abdul Rahman, Prime Minister of Malaysia, recommends the expulsion of Singapore from the Federation of Malaysia, negotiating its separation with Lee Kuan Yew, Prime Minister of Singapore.
• August 9 – Singapore is expelled from the Federation of Malaysia, which recognizes it as a sovereign nation. Lee Kuan Yew announces Singapore's independence and assumes the position of Prime Minister of the new island nation.
• August 15 – The Beatles perform the first stadium concert in the history of rock, playing at Shea Stadium in New York.
• September 25 – The Tom & Jerry cartoon series makes its world broadcast premiere on CBS.
• December 30 – Ferdinand Marcos becomes President of the Philippines.
